As vaccination rates climb in the U.S. and Canada, two new contests hope to prompt you to start your travel planning. Would you like to win a safari in Botswana or a beach stay in St. Lucia? Both contests are open to residents of the U.S. and Canada and you have until May 31 and June 14 to enter for your chance to win.

Win a three-night stay for two at Botswana’s Xigera Safari Lodge from Lion World Travel

Lion World Travel launched a We Love Africa contest on May 10, 2021. The contest closes May 31 and you could win a three-night stay at the brand new Xigera Safari Lodge in Botswana, plus a set of Heys Ecotex packing cubes and a 21-inch Heys Ecolite bag. The prize is valued at $15,000.

Enter the contest on Lion World Travel’s website by describing in 100 words why you want to visit Africa. It’s open to residents of the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec).

Lion World Travel is known as the “affordable luxury safari operator” and is a member of The Travel Corporation (TTC). Their focus is on southern and eastern Africa as well as Egypt. In partnership with the TreadRight Foundation, Lion World Travel and TTC support social responsibility and sustainability projects.

Part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, Xigera Safari Lodge is on two tiny islands in Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve. The luxury property has twelve suites plus a three-level treehouse inside what looks like a baobab tree. It overlooks the floodplain and the animals that congregate there. You can also watch wildlife from the deck of your suite, via a glass-bottomed mokoro, or in a traditional safari vehicle. Elephants, hippos, and white and black rhinos are often seen in the wetlands. Giraffes, zebras, antelopes, warthogs, baboons, and predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards are also frequently found in the area.

Details about entry requirements to Botswana are on Botswana Tourism’s website.

Win a four-night stay for two at St. Lucia’s Calabash Cove Resort & Spa

St. Lucia launched a new contest on Mother’s Day—May 9, 2021. You don’t have to be a mother to win (though if you do, please do consider bringing one of the hard-working mothers in your life). St. Lucia claims to be the only sovereign nation named after a woman, so it seems only fitting to time their contest around Mother’s Day.

Called the Mother’s Day Sweepstakes, the prize is a four-night stay at Calabash Cove Resort & Spa including breakfast and a spa treatment. This contest is open from May 9 to June 9, 2021 and the winner will be announced June 14, 2021. You can enter the contest on the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority’s website. It’s open to U.S. and Canadian residents (excluding Quebec).

Your stay will be at Calabash Cove, a boutique hotel on Bonaire Bay catering to adults. One of the Windward Islands, St. Lucia is blessed with a rich culture, white sand beaches, tropical rainforests, and volcanic mud baths. Its Piton Mountains are a UNESCO World Heritage site. St. Lucia’s current Covid protocols and entry requirements include proof of a negative PCR test taken five days prior to arrival.
